Jesus called out corrupt Pharisees (church leaders) in his day. I haven't found any Biblical verses indicating he supported entitlements from government. And while the corrupt, repulsive, sexually-immoral actions of a small percentage of priests can not be condemned harshly enough, it does not warrant a sweeping generalization of corruption and inefficiencies in the church as a whole.

Here are just a few examples of efficient, wholesome ministries I think Jesus might be proud to recognize:

1) Rock Recycling - Using money collected from recycling efforts to help over 42 children in the World Vision Hope Child program.

2) Habitat for Humanity - A Christian Ministry providing decent, simple, affordable homes.

3) Fireproof movie - A Christian entertainment ministry that with a budget of $500K has now generated over $30 million in box office revenues

4) Charlotte Crop Hunger Walk - A Christian-founded ministry that has raised over $5.5 million to fight hunger in Charlotte and worldwide

5) B.A.S.I.C. - A free Christian worship ministry for college students.

6) New Man Magazine - An online Christian periodical available for free to anyone with Internet access.

7) Christ Our Shephard Ministries - A North Carolina-based Christian ministry where 89% of available funds are used to support the care and education of children.
